Why we need to save the Kauri tree

Why we need to stop Kauri die back.

Kauri die back is a horrible disease that is killing our Kauri trees. there are many ways to stop it but the most common one is to spray kauri tree disinfectant on your shoes. the pathogen is called phytophthora agathidicida.

The Door made of Stone.

       The door made of Stone

One summer's day Danielle’s plane finally landed in Ancient Egypt. Her and her crew of archeologists travelled in her van to the most remote spot on the entire planet, in the middle of the scorching hot desert! They unloaded their tools so they could start digging in the sandy ground.

At the start they dug with mechanical diggers until they got closer and closer to their prize they changed their tools to spades and shovels. After an hour Danielle and her crew were so sweaty it was dripping from their lashes.

They could practically feel the ice cold door and the bumpy rope. They stopped for a drink and some food then changed their tools to brushs when they could see the door Danielle and her team untied the heavy rope as slow as a group of snails because they were very scared there might be a snake in the door. When the door unlocked it went creeeeeaaaaakkk skadoosh! It flung open as fast as a cheetah.  The team stared in expecting a vicious animal to come out but there was only a lonely hand sticking up from the ground and it was covered in a thick layer of toilet paper ! When they hauled the arm up and it turned out to be a full mummy!

They picked the mummy up and smiled then Danielle said “this is a very valuable piece of ancient egyptian history, let's take it back to the lab to examine it” everybody else nodded they also thought that this was the most treasured piece of egyption evidence that they’ve found so far. The team went back to the airport and bought tickets for the next flight back to Chicago but they still had a couple of hours until the flight so they went to the ancient pyramids to look around. They caught a taxi to the pyramids and went inside. They saw a mummified cat and an ancient  golden coffin when they were finished they realised there was only an left till their flight and they still had to load their bags. The team raced to the taxi and got to the airport in 10 minutes. They loaded their bags and hopped on the plane.

When they got back to the lab they all unwrapped the toilet paper to find the skin of an ancient pharaoh. Under the skin there was a skeleton and in the skeleton was a syrup. The team was very confused, why would a pharaoh have syrup in her body instead of blood? The next morning everybody went straight to the lab, when they were all together again Danielle said” know where all together again we should test the syrup that was in the pharaoh's bones,” so than everybody got samples and ran different tests on the syrup. Sarah [ a member of the team] ran a test for any blood recognition, Katie [another member] ran a test to find out what type of syrup it was and finally Mimi { another member} ran the final test which was also the most dangerous! She ran the explosive test to see if it was explosive!

After everybody was done Danielle looked at the results and realised it didn’t have a trace of blood and it wasn’t explosive but it was dangerous it was…. , DUN DUN DUUUUUN!!!

The team jumped back as a skull and crossbones rose out of the bone! When they went out for lunch they saw tons of skulls and crossbones, it was crazy they were all killing people!!!! Know this was bad thought Danielle everybody stood and stared as though they were hypnotized as a humongous skull came and said to the others” brothers today we will start destroying these humans” but danielle was brave and said” oh no you don’t” she ran back to the lab grabbed the bottle ran back and then she said some magic words” by the power of friendship and magic you will bow down to us and go into this bottle,” the skulls flew back into the bottle, Danielle beamed everybody cheered it was the best day ever!!!!

                       these creatures are massive and incredible but they're scary and totally not edible.These hungry animals have special features .They are in heaven and there were more than eleven but know they’re dead!

The fat dino sat on the mat and that was the end of that that.The fat bat sat on the mat well eating a rat and that was the end of that.The fat bird sat on the word well eating curd and that was the end of that. The fat dino sat on the lapped mat well sniffing the fat from the rat and the bat and that was the end of that.

59.5 degrees south

This week I have been reading 59.5 degrees south.This is what happened... we are helping Dan an on board geologist to drop another Argo float into the sea.One more to monitor the sea.We are now on board it is very wobbly.We wait for Dan's GPS to say exactly 59.5 degrees south then we push the Argo float in the water,cardboard and all.The cardboard will come of and leave the Argo float to do its own thing.Today around 3500 Argo floats are adrift.From in the arctic ocean to the southern ocean.They get released on big and small boats.they don't just bob in the water they are designed to be like a jelly fish up down,up,down.An Argo float can last up to 5 years and they measure up to 1.2 metres high.

Looks:

Jupiter is striped with red,brown and yellow.

It is blueish like the sky but mostly orange...ish with a blue bit on top.

It has an orange circle which is a storm.Jupiter also has a brown bottom that is as brown as chocolate.

Time:

It takes six years to get to Jupiter which means twelve years to go there and back.A long time ago voyagers only took three years to get to Jupiter,probes took three-five years.To Jupiter it is 2.5 million miles,how could that be.

Moons:

Jupiter has 67 known moons,4 of them are the size of planets!

The same 4 moons are called Lo,Europa,Ganymede,and Callisto.Think of them as planets that are very close to Jupiter.Those same moons [I think we are safe to call them planets] are called Galilean satellites,there also {pretty obvious} the biggest moons out of all 67.

In conclusion,well what do you think about Jupiter?So then,Jupiter will probably be the biggest thing in our solar system,well when the sun explodes!

They believe that mars is also in the just right zone,just.They believe that there may have been life on mars once.Mars and the Mcmurdo dry valley are very similar. So this is the connection that is between earth and mars.We may not be the only planet with living things.

Katie her mum her dad and her brother went to great barrier for new years.They came on there boat.When Katie got there she drew some palm trees.Her mum found some beautiful shells.All Katie's grand parents,cousins,Uncles and Auntys came too.At Midnight every body chanted along with the radio

a boy named Anthony who has a class ski trip that he wants to go on he has to raise money.Anthony raises money by doing neighbour hood jobs.He hands his money over early.Anthony's friend Jevan didn't raise the money so he helps Anthony do his jobs and raises money.

It was formed many millions of years ago when the continents were first formed.Mount everest belongs to the nepalese people and they beleive it is sacred and they need to respect it.

Ohiwa beach holiday park

Ohiwa beach holiday park

First we took ages to drive to Ohiwa but when we got there Mia and I went on the giant inflatable bouncy thing well Mum and Dad unpacked our stuff.We had finally arrived at Ohiwa beach holiday park!!!After we finished bouncing we went into the small cabin chose which bed out of the triple bunk. Then Mia and I went to explore ! The next day we went on the bouncy thing  and then played on the fun playground.After that we swam in the salt water pool , we went to the kids club in the games room and decorated cookies. The next day was the last day, we went for another swim in the cold pool!Then we went to the beach and saw … an alive super cute seal,two dead puffer fish one dead penguin and a lot of dead birds!!!That was the best holiday ever but it's not over yet there's still more to come!!
